Spring has sprung on Vancouver Island. Flowers have been out for months already and the cherry and plum blossoms are now lighting up the streets with their pink glow.
One of the primary reasons people relocate to Vancouver Island is because of the temperate, year-round climate - an added benefit of this is the area's long gardening season. Early signs of spring like crocuses and daffodils typically pop up in February with a rainbow of tulips close behind. These flowers start to appear in March and April along with the helleborus and camellias.
The streets look beautiful when the cherry and plum trees bloom, showing off their magnificent canopies in a variety of shades of pink.
Once April and May warm up, the colourful rhododendrons (which can grow to size of trees here!) and native dogwoods show off their spectacular blooms.

Comox Valley Builder Monterra Projects have been building custom-desgned homes and multi-family projects in this Vancouver Island community for many years. The Monterra team focuses on building relationships with their new home owners from the design process through to completion. They are now starting development of a modern patio home project at The Ridge called Tanglewood.
Monterra Projects are now conducting a soft launch of Tanglewood and pre-sales are being offered on the Phase 1 patio homes.
There are now six available units, with prices starting at $599,000. These first phase homes will range from 1,338 to 1,542 sq.ft. Completion of Phase 1 is scheduled for the fall of 2020. Each home has been designed with a spacious main-floor area to optimize the square footage.
The kitchens will feature quartz counters, tiled backsplash, custom cabinetry, designer lighting, a walk-in pantry and all homes can accommodate a gas range/stove. The kitchen flows into the dining and living room with large windows offering plenty of natural light and views onto the patio and backyard. Engineered hardwood runs throughout the house. The living room has a coffered ceiling and a fireplace with a custom mantle.
In some floor plans, the master bedroom is located at the back of the home, overlooking the landscaped backyard. Large ensuites feature cabinet lighting, heated tile flooring, and custom tiled walls in the shower. These homes also offer a laundry room that will accomodate a side by side washer and dryer. A large single-car garage and additional parking for two cars in the driveway round out the space.
Monterra Projects has chosen to build each home to Step Code 4 specifications, which means the homes have more insulation and be more energy efficient. Every home comes with a heat pump, air conditioning and a heat recovery ventilation system (HRV).
The Ridge is a new home development in South Courtenay on Vancouver island. The community is now building into Phase 3, and many of the home sites offer mountain and ocean views. Tanglewood will be the first multi-family project in this community.
If you would like more information and detailed floor plans, please contact Stephanie Renkema. Due to Covid-19 health and safety precautions, communication will be over the phone or by email at this time. Brochures with pertinent information can also be delivered to you.
