Location

Mill Bay is located on the southeast shore of Vancouver Island, approximately 41 kilometres (26 miles) north of Victoria. Vancouver Island's Mill Bay has quiet waterfront streets and gorgeous views of the ocean and the Gulf Islands. Neighbouring communities include the Village of Shawnigan Lake, Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay and Duncan.

Mill Bay was established in the 1860's approximately 20 years after Victoria was founded. Its principal industry was lumber and milling.

Community Events & Activities

Brentwood Rowing Regatta occurs in April and is hosted by Brentwood College. Enjoy Sunfest, an annual country music festival in August.

Mill Bay Nature Park is a great place for walkers providing easy oceanfront trails. It is surrounded by Vancouver Island parks and scenery perfect for hiking, cycling and boating.

North of Mill Bay on Vancouver Island is the beginning of the Vineyards and Cideries of the Cowichan Valley, featuring five top vineyards and wineries and the Merridale Cidery.

Mill Bay Marina

The Saanich Inlet and the majestic mountain views make the perfect setting for the Mill Bay Marina.

South of the Mill Bay ferry terminal beside Highway 1 is Bamberton Provincial Park consisting of sandy beaches and fronting onto the Saanich Inlet. On top of the terraces slopes above the beach, are picnic tables with shading provided by a fir-arbutus forest.

Experience the Vancouver Island life style within a couple of hours sail from Mill Bay. There are hundreds of accessible coves, bays and marinas scattered throughout the Gulf and San Juan Islands.

Golfing

There are a few Vancouver Island Golf courses to choose from in the area: Cowichan Golf and Country Club located in Duncan, Duncan Meadows Golf Course, and Arbutus Ridge Golf Club in nearby Cobble Hill.
