Joyce Behnsen of the Cowichan Valley Joins Our Team


1stView.ca is pleased to announce the addition of Joyce Behnsen of the Duncan region on Vancouver Island to their team. 1stView.ca is a new residential development directory consisting of Vancouver Island real estate that focuses exclusively on marketing Vancouver Island projects, and was founded by Clarice Coty of the Comox Valley.

Joyce has been brought on board to assist in sales for the Cowichan Valley area of Vancouver Island. With 15 years experience in the construction industry and 5 years in real estate, as well as her community involvement on Vancouver Island, Joyce is considered a valued asset to 1stView.ca.

Joyce was a real estate sales representative in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from 1982 to 1987. Upon her return to Vancouver Island, Joyce joined Dynel Cultured Marble in Victoria wherein she commenced her dealings with Vancouver Island construction projects.

Joyce was later approached by Scott Concrete to join their company and was responsible for sales. She assisted the business in setting up SureSpan ReadyMix Ltd., a supplier for SureSpan Group which is a Bridge building and construction company. Joyce was on the road visiting job sites for 10 years wherein she assisted SureSpan in building their reputation for quality and service on Vancouver Island. She was known as the “Concrete Lady”.

Joyce has much knowledge in regards to Vancouver Island homes, construction and banking. She was, and still is involved in many community organizations. Joyce was a member as well as, the Director of the Canadian Homebuilders Association in the Cowichan Valley from 1998 to 1999. She was an original member of the Economic Development Commission for the Cowichan Valley Regional District from 2001 to 2005.

For a two-year term, Joyce was on the Municipality of North Cowichan Parks & Recreation Committee commencing in January of 2009.

Joyce has met with a variety of politicians at all levels, as well as Chiefs of First Nations and Band members. She was involved in local, provincial and federal politics and has met Gordon Campbell and Stephen Harper (prior to becoming Prime Minister).

An unreserved auction was held in May for two Vancouver Island luxury condominium/vacation home units at Crown Mansion located in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.

The 1030 sq. ft. Qualicum Beach luxury home unit, Suite #108 at 292 East Crescent Road, was sold to the highest bidder for $252,500 CDN.

The second Vancouver Island vacation home unit, Suite #202 at 292 East Crescent Road at Crown Mansion in Qualicum Beach has an ocean view and is approximately 1030 sq ft.  This Vancouver Island real estate property sold for $285,000 CDN.
